Short-term Live In Care At Home
What is short-term live-in care?
Short-term live-in care is a temporary care arrangement designed to support individuals who need assistance for a limited period for any reason. This type of care is often required following a hospital stay, illness, or surgery, allowing individuals to recover in a familiar and comfortable environment. It is also beneficial for those who require convalescent or reablement care, or respite care when a main carer is away or needs a break.
Short-term care at home provides continuous support from our trained professionals, ensuring that your loved one receives high-quality care within the comfort of their own home, minimising unnecessary stress and routine disruption.
When is short-term care needed?
Short-term care provides personal support that can help individuals avoid unnecessary hospital stays or readmission following surgery or illness. Dedicated support can also reduce the risk of falls or injuries requiring further hospital stays. It is also a viable and cost effective alternative to residential care which can be very expensive.
For those transitioning to long-term care, short-term live-in care can also assist with preparing the home for at-home palliative care or establishing a care routine for family members to follow in the later stages. We can help you progress and regain a level of independence.
What’s included in your short-term live-in care?
We know that care isn’t one-size-fits-all. At VersaCare, we take the time to understand your personal needs and create a short-term live-in care plan that offers you the right level of support. Here are just some of the ways we can help:
- Daily Assistance: help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Nutrition & Meals: preparing balanced, home-cooked meals suited to your dietary needs.
- Health & Medical Support: medication reminders, therapy assistance, and vital sign monitoring.
- Companionship & Social Engagement: providing emotional support, engaging in hobbies, and encouraging community involvement. We will support you to get out and visit the local area as well as keeping you safe at home.
- Home Management & Safety: light housekeeping, laundry, and home adjustments to create a safe, comfortable environment.

FAQs
What is the minimum and maximum length of care?
At VersaCare we don’t tie you into long-term contracts and our minimum term for short-term care is one week, with partial periods accepted for hospital admissions or other unavoidable reasons for a suspension or cancellation of care.
This is specially designed for short term care to give you the flexibility you need. It also allows you to recover at your own pace, knowing that you’ll never be left without care or paying for care you no longer need.
How much does short term care cost?
Our short-term care starts from £945 per week, with NO hidden extras, which is considerably cheaper than temporarily moving into a care home while you recover while having all the benefits of being in your own home.
Can my loved ones visit me?
Yes, of course. One of the many benefits of live in care is that your friends and family can pop by whenever you want, unlike hospitals or care homes that have restrictions on visiting hours.
How will I know how my loved one is doing?
If you’re unable to visit your loved one while they recover their carer will keep you updated on their progress and general daily updates. They can also help facilitate video calls and other communication.
How does short term care differ from respite care?
Short-term care provides temporary, live-in support for recovery or assistance, while respite care primarily offers relief for family caregivers. Both ensure quality care, but short-term care is more focused on rehabilitation and stability at home.

Short Term Live In Care Testimonials
Our family has nothing but praise for Versacare. We have had live-in carers for nearly a year, and all have been conscientious. The office staff are really helpful and selected carers to meet the complex needs of my parents, and patiently sent us a number of carers until we found the one that was the most suited to my parents. My Dad had Parkinson's and his needs were fully met until he passed away last year. The care he received, especially in his last days, was wonderful. There was no interruption of care when he died, and now my Mum has the blessing of being in her own home, despite Alzheimer's, thanks to Versacare!

We would like to inform you of the excellent working practice Oti delivered yesterday. Oti was able to recognise a young person was struggling with his mental health. She stayed in communication with the Home Manager whilst closely monitoring the situation.
Oti's quick thinking and due diligence saved the young person from seriously harming himself. For this, we are very grateful as the outcome could have been very different.
Oti is a very competent worker. She excels in all areas but most of all the genuine interest and compassion she shows the young people. Please pass on our sincere appreciation to Oti.
