Live-In Care in Essex

Providing Live-In Care Across Essex

VersaCare provides a 24-hour live-in care service across Essex for those who would like to receive care in their own home rather than move into residential care. Our clients include elderly people, people with disabilities, those suffering from dementia and other memory-related illnesses as well as recovery after surgery and palliative care.

The Service We Offer

Our range of live-in care services are designed to give you the care you need within your own, or the family home, depending on your circumstances and needs.

Elderly Live-In Care

As we get older, we need a bit more support with daily tasks and getting around. We provide live-in care for elderly people across Essex so they can continue to live in their own home rather than move into traditional residential care. For residents in rural areas or market towns like Saffron Walden or Halstead, having a live-in carer means staying connected to the community you know and love, while receiving compassionate, tailored support.

Care for People with Disabilities

Our carers are highly skilled in supporting individuals with various disabilities, including learning disabilities, neurodivergence, and complex behaviours. Personalised live-in care enables individuals to thrive in their own homes or family settings, fostering independence and delivering better outcomes, compared to other options. In areas such as Thaxted or Great Dunmow, where specialist services may be further afield, our carers can assist with accessing appointments, therapies, or educational activities, ensuring seamless support.

Respite Care

Our respite care service offers family members and regular carers a much-deserved break. Whether you need temporary relief from daily caregiving or cover for your usual carer, our compassionate and reliable respite care ensures your loved one receives uninterrupted, high-quality support. Whether you’re in the city of Chelmsford or a picturesque village like Finchingfield, our respite care ensures your loved one receives the highest standard of care while you recharge.

Dementia Care

Our specialised live-in dementia care ensures your loved one receives round-the-clock support while remaining in the comfort of their own home. This service is tailored to meet their unique needs with compassionate and professional care. Familiar surroundings are crucial in dementia care, and live-in care helps maintain a reassuring sense of place and daily routine. Our carers are specially trained in dementia care, including techniques for managing memory loss, communication difficulties, and changes in behaviour.

Areas in Essex We Cover

We provide care across all of Essex, led by our area manager Kevin (a qualified Registered Manager), supported by our coordination team. So no matter if you’re in a small village like Gosfield or a city like Southend-on-Sea, we can support you. We provide care across the entire county, but some of the specific areas we provide care are:

  • Saffron Walden
  • Brentwood
  • Great Dunmow
  • Braintree
  • Clacton-on-Sea
  • Chelmsford
  • Colchester
  • Maldon
  • All surrounding areas

With Essex’s mix of urban areas and rural villages, the benefits of live-in care are even more pronounced. Whether accompanying you to a local community event in Maldon, helping you enjoy a peaceful walk along the Essex coastline, or visiting a tea room in the Dedham Vale, your carer ensures you remain active and engaged. During winter, when cold weather makes household tasks like grocery shopping more challenging, having a carer at home provides invaluable support and peace of mind for friends and family.

How We Provide Live-In Care in Essex

We begin our live-in care service with a friendly, no-obligation conversation to learn more about your location, care requirements, and the unique preferences of the person needing support. We follow up with the assessment results as well as the costs for your live-in care, typically within 48 hours. If you choose to move forward with live in care we will then work with you and your health professionals, such as GPs, to put together a tailored care plan.
While providing care is our first priority, making sure that you or your loved one also feels like they have a friend in their carer is important to us., helping to engage in any local activities that the client enjoys

Our Essex Area Manager

Our Essex area manager, Kevin, has extensive experience in arranging live-in care with his team of coordinators throughout the county. Kevin is dedicated to matching clients with carers who fit seamlessly into their daily lives and routines. His local knowledge ensures that clients in villages like Coggeshall or towns like Braintree receive carers who understand the nuances of life in Essex.

Cost Information

In Essex, residential homes can cost between £1000 and £1900 per week, whereas our live-in care is available starting at just £945 per week, and this is always guaranteed for at least a year, with only minimal unavoidable increases after that, fully explained in a letter. This means you can remain in the comfort of your own home without the added stress of selling your property to fund care.

For couples, live-in care is an especially attractive option. It enables you to stay together at home and is only slightly more expensive than care for one person. Residential care often requires paying for two spaces, and differing needs may result in being placed in separate facilities.

Live-in care also allows you to maintain your lifestyle and routines while receiving care specifically tailored to your needs. This approach not only improves overall wellbeing and happiness but is also more affordable compared to residential care.

Navigating funding and benefits can be challenging, but our team is here to help. We’ll guide you through the process and ensure you access all the support you’re entitled to.

Live in care care testimonials

Our family has nothing but praise for Versacare. We have had live-in carers for nearly a year, and all have been conscientious. The office staff are really helpful and selected carers to meet the complex needs of my parents, and patiently sent us a number of carers until we found the one that was the most suited to my parents. My Dad had Parkinson's and his needs were fully met until he passed away last year. The care he received, especially in his last days, was wonderful. There was no interruption of care when he died, and now my Mum has the blessing of being in her own home, despite Alzheimer's, thanks to Versacare!

Charmaine

We would like to inform you of the excellent working practice Oti delivered yesterday. Oti was able to recognise a young person was struggling with his mental health. She stayed in communication with the Home Manager whilst closely monitoring the situation.

Oti's quick thinking and due diligence saved the young person from seriously harming himself. For this, we are very grateful as the outcome could have been very different.

Oti is a very competent worker. She excels in all areas but most of all the genuine interest and compassion she shows the young people. Please pass on our sincere appreciation to Oti.
