Live-In Care in Suffolk
Delivering Personalised Live-In Care Services in Suffolk
VersaCare offers 24-hour live-in care across Suffolk, enabling individuals to stay comfortably in their own homes with personalised, compassionate support tailored to their needs. We support a range of clients including elderly people, people with disabilities, those suffering from dementia and other memory-related illnesses as well as recovery after surgery and palliative care.
The Service We Offer
We offer a flexible range of live-in care services, carefully tailored to meet your specific circumstances, needs, and lifestyle preferences, all in your own home.
Elderly Live-In Care
In our older years, we require some additional support with daily tasks and getting out and about, especially in a rural county such as Suffolk. Our live in care service is specially designed to help elderly people and couples continue to live in their own homes. For elderly people in rural areas or market towns like Long Melford or Sudbury this means you can continue to live in and access the best parts of your community, and have visits from friends whenever you wish.
Care for People with Disabilities
Our carers undergo specialised training and come with extensive experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of disabilities, including learning disabilities, neurodivergence, and complex behaviours, ensuring personalised care that promotes independence and dignity. In areas such as Eye or Hadleigh, where access to specialist services may be limited, our carers can assist with organising and accessing therapy sessions, specialised medical appointments, or support groups further afield.
Respite Care
Taking a break from being a carer is essential for your wellbeing, and our respite care service in Suffolk provides a trusted solution. Whether you need short-term support to step away from your caring duties or require temporary cover for your regular carer, we deliver seamless, high-quality care. From Ipswich to charming villages like Lavenham, we ensure your loved one receives personalised attention and support, allowing you to recharge with peace of mind.
Dementia Care
Living with dementia can present unique challenges, but our live-in care service is designed to offer consistent and compassionate support in the comfort of your loved one’s home. Our carers are specially trained in dementia care, employing strategies such as memory stimulation exercises, structured daily routines, and patient communication techniques to ease anxiety and build confidence. This personalised approach helps maintain a sense of familiarity and security, which is vital for those with dementia
Areas in Suffolk We Cover
Our care services extend across all of Suffolk, guided by our area manager Kevin, a qualified Registered Manager. Supported by a dedicated coordination team, Kevin ensures that clients receive care that reflects their personal needs. So no matter if you’re in a small village like Debenham or a town like Felixstowe, we can be there for you. We provide care across the entire county, but some of the specific areas we provide care are:
- Bury St Edmunds
- Ipswich
- Sudbury
- Lowestoft
- Newmarket
- Woodbridge
- Haverhill
- Stowmarket
- All surrounding areas
With Suffolk’s mix of coastal towns, urban areas, and rural villages, the benefits of live-in care are even more pronounced. Whether accompanying you to a local community event, helping you enjoy a peaceful walk around town, or visiting your favourite local cafe or restaurant, your carer ensures you don’t miss out on the things you love to do.
During winter, when cold weather and snow can make roads impassable, having a live-in carer ensures uninterrupted support and safety. Unlike visiting carers, who may struggle to reach you in severe conditions, a live-in carer is always on hand to assist with daily tasks and emergencies, providing peace of mind for both clients and their families.
How We Provide Live-In Care in Suffolk
Starting your live-in care journey with us is simple. We start with a simple, no-obligation conversation to understand where you live, your care requirements, and your personal preferences. Typically within 2 working days, we provide a detailed assessment with transparent costs for your tailored care plan. If you decide to proceed, we collaborate closely with health professionals, such as GPs, to create a plan that perfectly matches your physical and mental needs.
Beyond care, we prioritise creating a meaningful connection between clients and carers. Our carers are trained, DBS checked, fully insured, and we are regulated by the CQC, but if the relationship isn’t right, then the care isn’t right. We will do our utmost to make sure you have a carer you can call a companion as well.
Our Suffolk Area Manager
Our Suffolk area manager, Kevin, has extensive experience in arranging live-in care with his team of coordinators throughout the county. Kevin is dedicated to matching clients with carers who fit seamlessly into their daily lives and routines. Having been born and raised in Ipswich, his local knowledge ensures that clients in villages like Long Melford or towns like Stowmarket receive carers who understand Suffolk’s community feel.
Cost Information
In Suffolk, residential homes can cost between £1200 and £1800 per week, whereas our live-in care starts from just £945 per week, and this is always guaranteed for at least a year, with only minimal unavoidable increases after that, fully explained in a letter.
One of the most important factors in choosing live-in care is the fact that when a financial assessment is performed by Social services to determine the care that you are entitled to your house IS NOT taken into account when assessing your financial resources.
If you go into residential or nursing care your house can be sold to pay for your care before any funding is provided. When the value of your property is exhausted then you will have to move to a care facility that will accept Social Services-funded clients, which are often far inferior to private locations due to the amount they are paid.
Even if the assessment says only several visits per day are required and that is all they will fund, but the client or family wish to top-up to have live-in care, it is still far cheaper even to take an equity release on any property as the value will last many years longer, and occupiers can never be forced to leave.
For couples, live-in care offers an ideal solution, allowing both partners to remain together in the comfort of their own home. It is a cost-effective alternative, with only a marginal increase compared to care for a single person. Unlike residential care, which often necessitates paying for two separate spaces and can separate couples with differing needs.
Live-in care also allows you to maintain your lifestyle and routines while receiving care specifically tailored to your needs. This approach not only improves overall wellbeing and happiness but is also more affordable compared to residential care.
Navigating funding and benefits can be challenging, but our team is here to help. We’ll guide you through the process and ensure you access all the support you’re entitled to.

Live in care care testimonials
Our family has nothing but praise for Versacare. We have had live-in carers for nearly a year, and all have been conscientious. The office staff are really helpful and selected carers to meet the complex needs of my parents, and patiently sent us a number of carers until we found the one that was the most suited to my parents. My Dad had Parkinson's and his needs were fully met until he passed away last year. The care he received, especially in his last days, was wonderful. There was no interruption of care when he died, and now my Mum has the blessing of being in her own home, despite Alzheimer's, thanks to Versacare!
Charmaine
We would like to inform you of the excellent working practice Oti delivered yesterday. Oti was able to recognise a young person was struggling with his mental health. She stayed in communication with the Home Manager whilst closely monitoring the situation.
Oti's quick thinking and due diligence saved the young person from seriously harming himself. For this, we are very grateful as the outcome could have been very different.
Oti is a very competent worker. She excels in all areas but most of all the genuine interest and compassion she shows the young people. Please pass on our sincere appreciation to Oti.
